Job Description

Aevi Real Estate Group is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Planning Consultant with a local authority background to support the planning and delivery of our residential and mixed-use developments. Offered on a contract basis, this role is ideal for an experienced planner looking to transition into the private sector or to expand their portfolio through meaningful project work.

Working alongside our Land and Design teams, you will advise on planning strategy, lead application submissions, and serve as a key liaison with local authorities. You will play an essential role in unlocking complex sites and helping us achieve consent for architecturally ambitious schemes across London and the South East.

We are particularly keen to hear from former Planning Officers or Senior Planning Officers with recent experience in development management who are ready to apply their expertise in a commercially minded, design-led environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct planning appraisals and due diligence for prospective acquisitions
Prepare and manage planning applications, resubmissions, and appeals
Draft planning statements, design & access statements, and committee reports
Engage with planning officers, consultees, and stakeholders to support successful outcomes
Attend pre-application meetings and represent the company at planning committees
Interpret evolving planning policy and advise on its impact to development strategy
Coordinate with internal architects and external planning consultants as required
Support the delivery of high-quality, policy-compliant schemes

Requirements

Local authority experience in development management or planning policy (minimum 2–3 years)
Degree in Town Planning or a related field (RTPI accreditation preferred)
Strong understanding of the UK planning system, policy, and procedures
Excellent communication and report-writing skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and navigate complex planning matters
Commercial awareness and interest in residential-led development
Availability to work on a project-by-project or fixed-term contract basis
